Adventures of '07'

The year 2007 found us making many road trips. Jason had been working a lot of over time throughout the months, so his boss gave him a week off at the end of February. So, we decided to take a trip to Houston to see Jason's "dumb" brother. We went to the space center, took a trip to San Antonio to the river walk, and a trip to the beach. We left Colorado with it being blizzard like conditions, so with the 80 degree weather there we couldn't pass up an opportunity to go to the beach.
With Brandie almost dying the year before, it kind of put a damper on the kid's summer. So she wanted to make up for it this summer.
They did all kinds of things, movies, museums, zoo trips, water parks, you name it. Everyday they had something planned. We were even apart of a group called "summer of service" where we did different volunteer jobs. We also took a trip to pleasant View, Utah to visit some friends. It was their Founder's Day, so there was a parade, and Fireworks.
Thanks to Jason's wonderful parents, Brandie and Jason (and Lyddie)were able to have a little getaway in San Francisco. Shortly after that we took a trip to San Diego with the whole Family. With stops in St. George, UT, and Vegas. The boys loved Vegas. Jude still talks about it. Garrett renamed the New York, New York hotel to "Double New York". We did the typical things in California, beach, sea world, shop. We visited the Mormon Battalion visitors center. The boys had fun trying on the soldier garb. People there were very nice. Everywhere we went people were so friendly. We had an anonymous person pay for our meal at Mimi's Cafe, because they were so impressed with how our children behaved. Wow, that was a first.
Jason and Brandie along with other adult family members attended the first BYU game of the season, while Jason attended many more after that. It has become a tradition that many cougar fans come to our house on game days to watch. It's a blast! Especially when they win. Jason got to fire the cannon at one of the games. He's like a little kid when it comes to BYU football.
Brandie got to have a little time away with some friends, going to "Scrapaway". It's a place where you can go and scrapbook all day and night, and meals are prepared for you, and no clean up. Brandie also took a trip with Jude and Lyddie to Alabama to visit family. Pati ( Brandie's stepmom) went to the temple for the first time and she and Brandie's dad were sealed. Jude and Lyddie had a great time playing with cousins.
Thanksgiving was spent in Utah. I think that was the 5th trip to Utah in 6 months for us. Christmas we are staying home, and are looking forward to family coming to visit us. We are so fortunate to be able to travel so freely. What a wonderful time and place we live in. God has truly blessed us. We hope you all have a great Holiday. Merry Christmas!
